Because half of the door slides behind the other half, only half of the side of the shower will be open as opposed to the folding door that opens the whole side of the enclosure.


Walk in- This enclosure has no door, leave just a gap. The walls of the enclosure are laid out so that water cannot splash out despite it being open. A walk in shower is usually set on a rectangular tray with one end open to the room for drying.


Corner entry- Mainly used on quadrant showers, corner openings incorporate two doors that slide or pivot open from the corner of the enclosure.


The other main variation between enclosures is the shower tray itself. Trays are available in various, shapes, sizes, colours, and heights. For example, in a walk in shower you may want a large rectangular tray that is flush with the floor tiles in your bathroom. Choose a tray that will fit comfortably into your bathroom. Furthermore, try to match your enclosure to the shower itself and the rest of your bathroom. In any bathroom the choice of design will be important. Try to pick a suitable style. In very modern bathrooms a frameless, sleek, glass design might be best. In bathrooms with natural tones a wooden framed enclosure might be best. Whereas in a small family bathroom you may just want a small square plastic enclosure with a sliding door for utility.

Dressing Up Your Windows – Inside and Out

Wasp Traps – Do It Yourself Wasp Control

Wasp traps are a great option for managing a wasp problem without the use of pesticides or other harmful chemicals and without the expense of using a professional exterminator. They are inexpensive, non-toxic, and very effective, especially in instances when a hive is not close to your home or not visible. Wasp traps that are properly baited will also have no impact on beneficial honey bees.


If you do find an active wasp hive in an area such as a playground, near the entrance to your home, or another location with frequent human activity, removal of the hive by a professional exterminator will be necessary. But wasps are a very important part of the ecosystem: they consume massive numbers of insects and spiders. If a wasp hive is not in a sensitive area, it’s best to leave it alone and control errant wasps with traps rather than destroying the entire hive.


For many wasps, including yellowjackets, if you set out multiple traps in the late winter or early spring – before large numbers of wasps are around – you are likely to trap one or several queens. Trapping these queens keeps them from starting a hive that could easily grow to include several thousand adult wasps by the late summer. Trapping queens may well reduce the overall wasp population for the entire season. While one trap for acre may be adequate in the spring to catch the queens, you’ll need to set out several later in the summer when wasp activity increases.


So what about pesticides? Or other home remedies like pouring gasoline into a hive in the ground? Pesticides can work, but they are poisonous. They are harmful to the environment, can contaminate the water supply, and pose risks to children and pets, as well as to the person using the pesticides. And while gasoline or other fuel or chemicals can kill wasps, pouring those products into the ground ensures that they will find their way into the local water supply.

How To Make Outdoor Xmas Decorations Part 2

In the first part of my Outdoor Xmas Decorations tips, I’ve introduced the fine idea of a Welcome Home signboard. While that is a nice little addition, I bet you’ll find your yard still kind of empty and lacking in something. Fret not, as this article was written to give you even more ideas on outdoor Xmas decorations.


We are now going to do a little something to the yard area, and what more appropriate decorations are there than a snowman? If you are thinking that it’s too early to snow or you live in a tropical country, don’t worry as we are actually going to make a handicraft snowman instead.


The best material for making snowmen is particle board. Although flat in thickness, joining them together in a cross like fashion can give a close 3D feel and that is good enough. Particle board is chosen mainly because it is cheap and extremely easy to work with. Particle board is also pretty resistant and can stand up to punishment from the weather so shop for at least two big ones in your local DIY store.


The first thing you need to do is to mark out your cutting lines. Use big round objects or a big compass to help you trace three overlapping circles of different sizes on the first board, with the biggest circle forming the base. Once done, take your second board and mark only one circle.


Be sure to leave the base of the both boards flat so it can stand. Use your saw or knife to cut along marked lines for both boards. You should now have two boards, one with a full body of three circles (your main board) and a second one with only one big circle at its base (the support board).
