House facing and your main door

Every house or apartment building has a sitting and a facing direction and in most cases we can intuitively differentiate them. The facing is usually the side with allow the maximum qi energy into your house.

How to determine which site allow the most qi energy?

First, you must remember that we all bring in the most qi energy into the house when we walk through the main door.

Take an example, you stay in a condominium where there are on-going construction nearby and you pass by the construction site everytime you want to go home. You will definitely bring along all the killing qi “sha” into your house once you open your main door and walk in. You are not climbing into your condo through the balcony. Your family members are more prone to sickness.

Take another example. This is a truth story. Mr. David Lee was staying in a double storey house. He have a large glass door on the ground floor facing south and his balcony also facing south and his main door is facing west. You might want to conclude that his house facing is South. There was a huge construction site in front of his house not far away. Mr. Lee thought that by not using the glass door and balcony (and also by having curtains) will block all the killing qi. However, he used to passed by the constructon site whenever he want to go home. He entered his house using his south facing door. This means he was bring all the killing qi into his house.

Thus, the site that allow the most qi entering your house is the most frequently used door. Therefore, you can conclude that the facing direction is the facing of your main door.

You should take the compass reading standing inside your house facing your main door.

Dos

5. well-lit area of the house.

Main door facing any sha qi or open into any wrongfully features inside the house will bring bad feng shui into the house.

1. directly onto street lamp posts, street sign
2. directly onto a tree.
3. a mirror inside the house. This is one of the most crucial mistake and very often happened to modern houses.
4. a toilet
5. kitchen inside the house. In case of open concept kitchen, make sure it not facing directly onto your stove.

Feng Shui Color is not simply about black and white, we all know Ying and Yang with Ying being white for the female and Yang being black for the male.

It is the case that we will look at rooms in their masculine and feminine self but certainly not in black and white, nothing is ever as simple as black and white we all share rooms and we all need to be in harmony and therefore agreement on color choices.

However some rooms, the study and office are more male than female and perhaps the bedroom is more female than male and likewise the kitchen, no doubt this will of course depend on your home and who and how many live there.

Ying and Yang work together to bring universal balance and so we must find a balance in the house. Many people will look at their birth dates and the color allocate to this by Feng Shui Color, I would not do this, simply because this becomes too restrictive and does not provide harmony between all who live in the house and we need this harmony and balance.

Without applying Feng Shui Color, we know that if we paint a room in a color someone living in the house absolutely hates then they will hate that room; this is not harmony so it is not Feng Shui even if the color is your birthday one.

Divide the house into functional areas and assess the type of energy required for each room and this will ensure the correct balance and harmony.

For example the bedroom should be about relaxation and peace, so we need to have a quite color which relaxes not one which is loud and determined. Nice pastel shades, it is always good to have more than one color to again give a balance. A split room with the darker shade of say cream on the bottom half and the upper half being slightly lighter works well for light energy and harmony.

Another example might be the study which is the room for wealth and prosperity. Here Feng Shui Color would be yellow, not so masculine I know but as Yellow is the symbol of wealth a wall in yellow with a nice mirror will send out the positive flow of energy we require.

A few simple rules when allocating colors are:

1. The ceiling should be lighter than the floor.
2. The walls should be deeper than the ceiling but lighter than the walls.
3. Avoid reds and blacks especially together as this will give a strong negative energy.

The most important rule of them all is to ensure that all who live in the house agree with the Feng Shui Color and are therefore in basic harmony allowing positive energy to flow throughout your home.
